Upper Sixth A level Economics students shortlisted for the 2024 John Locke Institute Global Essay prize
Congratulations to Upper Sixth A level Economics students Harveer and Yesh, who were recently shortlisted for the 2024 John Locke Institute Global Essay prize, with their essays shortlisted from over 30,000 global submissions.
The John Locke Institute is named in honour of the seventeenth century Oxford philosopher and grandfather of Classical Liberalism. The essay competition encourages young people to cultivate the characteristics that turn good students into great writers: independent thought, depth of knowledge, clear reasoning, critical analysis and persuasive style. The competition invites students to explore a wide range of challenging and interesting questions beyond the confines of the school curriculum.
All short-listed students were invited to a gala dinner and awards ceremony at Grosvenor House in Mayfair, London where the keynote speaker was Liz Truss. Students enjoyed a three-course meal and received a certificate in recognition of their achievement. Being shortlisted in this prestigious, global essay competition is a tremendous accomplishment, and we are proud of Harveer and Yesh.
